Position Overview:

A leading healthcare facility in Manhattan, NY is seeking an experienced and dedicated Breast Ultrasound Technologist to join its radiology team. The ideal candidate will be skilled in performing high-quality ultrasound imaging focused on breast health. This role involves both clinical and administrative responsibilities to support patient care and imaging services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and position patients for ultrasound exams in accordance with established protocols

• Operate ultrasound equipment and capture diagnostic-quality images for physician review

• Transfer images to PACS and physician workstations efficiently

• Perform routine maintenance and cleanliness of ultrasound machines

• Ensure adequate inventory of necessary supplies and maintain readiness of exam rooms

• Assist with onboarding and mentoring of new sonographers as needed

• Support patient scheduling, coordination, and communication

• Handle administrative tasks such as answering calls and facilitating patient transport

• Comply with infection control, safety, and quality assurance standards

Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist

• At least 1 year of breast imaging experience

• Proficient in using Microsoft Office and electronic medical record systems

• Strong attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a clinical team

Education Requirements:

• Required:

  • Associate’s Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography

  • OR High School Diploma/GED plus completion of an accredited Ultrasound/Sonography training program

Licensure & Certifications:

• Required:

  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) – ARDMS

  • BLS Certification (Basic Life Support)
