Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Banner Database Administrator to provide expert-level support for the maintenance, enhancement, and performance of Oracle databases within an Ellucian Banner ERP environment. This fully remote contract position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with deep technical knowledge of Ellucian tools and strong Linux system administration skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage and apply complex Banner upgrades and patches using Ellucian Solution Manager (ESM)

  • Perform Oracle database administration, including backup/recovery, tuning, patching, and upgrade activities

  • Support the installation and configuration of Oracle databases and Banner ERP modules

  • Execute Linux system administration tasks (e.g., RHEL), including scripting, performance optimization, and automation

  • Ensure database integrity, security, and availability

  • Document processes, configurations, and resolutions effectively

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support ongoing system enhancements and troubleshooting

Required Qualifications:

  • Advanced experience with Ellucian Solution Manager (ESM) and Banner ERP systems

  • Strong Linux system administration background, especially in enterprise or higher education settings

  • Proficiency in Oracle database management, including tuning, patching, and recovery

  • Experience with the installation, configuration, and upgrade of Oracle and Banner modules

  • Ability to work independently and communicate technical concepts clearly

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud-hosted environments such as AWS or Ellucian SaaS

  • Familiarity with Ellucian tools such as Job Submission, Workflow, or AppNav

  • Understanding of Banner schema and data structures
