Job Title: Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Gastonia, NC
Duration: 13 Weeks
Unit: Imaging Nursing Unit
Shift: Days – 9-hour shifts (Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM, 4 days/week)
On-Call: Weeknight on-call once per week (5:30 PM – 7:00 AM); weekend on-call every 5th week (Friday–Sunday, 5:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to support the Imaging Nursing Unit. The RN will provide pre- and post-procedure care for inpatients and outpatients undergoing various radiology services, including CT, MRI, Ultrasound, and Interventional Radiology. Responsibilities also include intra-procedure monitoring and care for both adult and pediatric patients, including infants receiving anesthesia for MRI.
Provide pre-procedural assessments and post-procedural care for patients undergoing diagnostic imaging or stress testing
Monitor patients during procedures using appropriate clinical and technical protocols
Deliver care across a diverse patient population, including adults and pediatric patients
Collaborate with imaging technologists, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals
Document care accurately and timely in accordance with facility protocols
Respond to emergencies and adverse reactions appropriately during and after procedures
Participate in a rotating on-call schedule
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of NC or compact license
Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care RN experience; radiology or procedural experience strongly preferred
Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA)
Pediatric experience preferred, especially involving sedation/anesthesia support
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a high-paced imaging environment
4 shifts per week – 9-hour days (8:00 AM to 5:30 PM)
Weeknight On-Call: Once per week, 5:30 PM – 7:00 AM
Weekend On-Call: Every 5th week (Friday through Sunday), 5:30 PM – 7:00 AM
