Job Title: Pharmacist
Location: Gastonia, NC
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Nights – 12-Hour Shifts (6:00 PM – 6:30 AM)
Schedule: 7 days on / 7 days off, including every other weekend
Job Overview:
We are seeking a Pharmacist with emergency department (ED) experience to join a hospital pharmacy team for a 13-week night shift assignment. The role is fast-paced and integral to emergency care delivery, ensuring accurate, efficient, and safe medication use in collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Provide clinical pharmacy support to a busy Emergency Department
Review, prepare, and dispense medications with accuracy and efficiency
Collaborate with medical teams on medication selection, dosing, and monitoring
Respond to medical emergencies (e.g., codes, trauma activations)
Ensure compliance with all hospital protocols, pharmacy laws, and regulations
Provide drug information and therapeutic recommendations to providers
Maintain documentation of interventions, consults, and adverse events
Support pharmacy operations including inventory, medication safety, and sterile compounding if applicable
Active North Carolina Pharmacist License
Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience
Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) – Preferred
Certifications:
BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Required
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Required
Strong clinical knowledge of emergency medications, protocols, and best practices
Excellent communication and decision-making skills
Experience working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment
