Job Title: MRI Technologist

Job Type: Contract (Local or Travel)
Pay Range: $50 – $60 per hour
Shift: Evenings, Monday – Friday (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM)
Weekend Rotation: Every 3rd Weekend (Saturday and Sunday)

Position Overview:

A premier healthcare facility in Hackensack, NJ is seeking an experienced and motivated MRI Technologist to join its diagnostic imaging department. The successful candidate will perform high-quality MRI examinations to assist physicians in diagnosing medical conditions while ensuring optimal patient care, safety, and comfort.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform MRI procedures following physician directives and imaging protocols.

  • Prepare and administer contrast agents with complete accuracy and adherence to safety guidelines.

  • Collaborate with radiologists and other clinical staff to ensure imaging quality and diagnostic accuracy.

  • Maintain comprehensive and timely documentation, including patient records and equipment logs.

  • Process and archive completed images within 30 minutes post-exam.

  • Monitor and troubleshoot equipment functionality; escalate issues as needed.

  • Ensure safe and effective patient transport and positioning during procedures.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with infection control standards.

  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and their families.

  • Provide support to the imaging team and cover shifts or assist in other modalities as needed.

  • Stay current with industry standards, procedural updates, and continuing education requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program

  • Valid New Jersey MRI Technologist License

  • ARRT (MRI) Certification

  • Minimum of 1 year of MRI experience

  • Proficient in MRI safety protocols, imaging procedures, and patient care practices

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a hospital or high-volume imaging center

  • Familiarity with PACS and advanced MRI techniques
