Shifts:

  • Day Shift: 3x12-Hour (06:30 AM – 7:00 PM)

  • Night Shift: 3x12-Hour (06:30 PM – 7:00 AM)


Position Summary:

We are actively seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with specialized experience in ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) to join a high-acuity,in Minneapolis, MN. As an ECMO Specialist, you will work closely with multidisciplinary teams in a critical care setting, providing advanced cardiopulmonary support and monitoring for patients requiring life-sustaining therapies.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Initiate, manage, and wean patients from ECMO therapy in collaboration with physicians, perfusionists, and nursing staff.

  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain ECMO circuits and related life support equipment.

  • Provide respiratory care therapies including ventilation management, oxygen therapy, airway management, and ABG analysis.

  • Document all procedures, assessments, and treatments accurately in the EMR (Epic experience preferred).

  • Ensure strict adherence to infection control and ECMO safety protocols.

  • Educate staff and families on ECMO and respiratory therapy components as needed.

  • Respond to Code Blue and Rapid Response calls.


Requirements:

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential by NBRC – Required

  • Minnesota Respiratory Care Practitioner LicenseRequired

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a hospital-based critical care setting

  • At least 1 year of ECMO experienceRequired

  • BLS, ACLS (American Heart Association) – Required

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical ventilation, ABGs, and respiratory protocols in adult ICU settings

  • Experience with high-frequency ventilation, nitric oxide, and ECMO circuit troubleshooting is preferred


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior travel experience in tertiary or academic medical centers

  • Experience in both VA and VV ECMO

  • Familiarity with CentriMag, CardioHelp, or Rotaflow systems

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills in a multidisciplinary team
