Location: Syracuse, NY 13210
Shift: Full-Time, Day Shift (Monday – Friday), 8-hour shifts
Assignment Type: 13-Week Contract (with possibility of extension)


Job Summary:

We are seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, swallowing, and fluency disorders in patients across various age groups. This role is ideal for a compassionate clinician who thrives in a collaborative, patient-centered environment and is passionate about improving communication and quality of life for individuals with speech and swallowing disorders.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive speech, language, voice, cognitive-communication, and swallowing assessments.

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient diagnosis, age, and needs.

  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, PT/OT, case managers, and families on plan of care.

  • Document patient progress and update care plans regularly in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.

  • Provide education and training to patients, caregivers, and clinical staff on communication strategies and swallowing safety.

  • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and care planning meetings.

  • Recommend augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices when needed.

  • Maintain accurate documentation in EMR system (Epic experience preferred).


Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program

  • Current NY State SLP License – Required

  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) – Required

  • BLS Certification (AHA) – Required

  • Minimum of 1 year of recent experience as a practicing SLP, preferably in a hospital or rehab setting
