Job Title: CT Technologist

Position Overview:

A well-respected healthcare facility in Syracuse, NY is seeking a certified CT Technologist for a 13-week contract assignment. This is a dynamic role within a high-performing radiology department that offers a blend of technical challenge and patient interaction across variable shifts.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and prepare patients for CT exams, reviewing their medical history and explaining procedures clearly.

  • Position patients appropriately to ensure optimal image quality and patient safety.

  • Select proper exposure parameters, conduct pre-scan equipment checks, and perform warm-up sequences.

  • Administer contrast agents as required, monitoring patient vitals and ensuring adherence to safety standards.

  • Operate CT scanning equipment and software to produce high-quality diagnostic images.

  • Review and adjust scans for optimal quality and diagnostic value.

  • Accurately document all procedures and patient data in the Radiology Information System (RIS).

  • Promptly report any equipment issues or image quality concerns; assist in routine quality assurance and maintenance.

  • Follow departmental protocols, policies, and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and patient safety.


Required Certifications & Licenses:

  • ARRT (CT) Certification – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Computed Tomography

  • BLS Certification – Basic Life Support, current and valid

  • New York State License/Registration as a Radiologic Technologist

  • Any additional facility- or state-specific imaging certifications as applicable


Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate of Applied Science in Radiologic Technology (or equivalent)

  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of CT or MRI experience in a clinical or hospital setting

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with CT imaging protocols, image reconstruction software, and radiation safety practices

  • Preferred: Experience with interventional procedures or hybrid modalities such as PET/CT
