Location: Phoenix, AZ
Assignment Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift Schedule: 12-hour Night Shifts (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM)
Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead and manage nursing operations during night shifts in a long-term care setting. The DON will be responsible for supervising staff, overseeing clinical care, and ensuring quality outcomes through compliance and nursing best practices.
Supervise and manage nursing staff during assigned night shifts, including performance evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary actions.
Provide direct patient care and complex clinical interventions as needed.
Serve as a clinical resource and consultant to nursing staff.
Monitor and ensure appropriate staffing to meet patient care needs.
Participate in the recruitment, orientation, and professional development of nursing staff.
Lead and coordinate in-service education and training sessions.
Conduct quality assurance audits and contribute to policy and procedural improvements.
Respond to emergencies and escalate significant issues to senior leadership per facility protocols.
Required:
Active RN License in the state of Arizona
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Previous experience in a Long-Term Care facility
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to manage clinical emergencies and staff coordination during night hours
