Join Our Team as an Optometric Technician!

We’re looking for a highly skilled and motivated Optometric Technician to support a busy ophthalmology practice in the heart of New York City. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with top-tier physicians, grow your clinical expertise, and make a real impact on patient care.

What You'll Do:

πŸ‘οΈ Clinical Support & Testing

  • Conduct preliminary eye exams: visual acuity, dilation, refraction, tonometry, pupil assessments, OCT, and visual field testing

  • Assist with central/peripheral visual field tests, ocular motility, color vision, and pharmacological pupil testing

  • Prepare patients for dilation and explain procedures clearly and compassionately

πŸ“‹ Patient Flow & Coordination

  • Direct patient flow for eye exams and procedures

  • Collect medical history and assist in preparing patient charts

  • Coordinate lab tests, diagnostic imaging, and outpatient procedures as requested by physicians

πŸ”§ Equipment Handling & Maintenance

  • Calibrate and maintain ophthalmic instruments including slit lamps, keratometers, tonometers, etc.

  • Ensure consultation rooms are stocked, clean, and ready for use

πŸ› οΈ Surgical & Procedural Support

  • Sterilize and prepare surgical instruments

  • Assist physicians with in-office procedures, laser treatments, and operating room setups as needed

What You Bring:

βœ… Experience with:

  • Dilation, Visual Acuity Testing, Tonometry

  • Refraction, Pupil Assessments, OCT & Visual Field Testing

βœ… Certification:

  • Ophthalmic Technician Certificate (required)

βœ… Soft Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Excellent communication and patient-relations skills

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical setting
