Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) – Interventional Radiology to join our healthcare team. The RN in this role will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures. This position requires a strong clinical background, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care before, during, and after interventional radiology procedures.
  • Assist radiologists and other healthcare professionals in performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including but not limited to angiography, embolization, biopsies, and catheter placements.
  • Monitor patient vital signs and respond promptly to changes in condition.
  • Administer medications, including moderate sedation, under physician orders and per hospital protocols.
  • Educate patients and their families on procedure preparation, post-procedure care, and any necessary follow-up.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient care, medications, and procedural details in electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain a safe and sterile environment in the interventional suite.
  • Assist in managing emergency situations, including recognizing and responding to complications.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing – BSN preferred).
  • Licensure/Certification: Current RN license in Texas and BLS/ACLS certification required, BLS
  • Experience: Minimum of [1-3] years of nursing experience, preferably in critical care, emergency medicine, or interventional radiology.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in IV therapy, medication administration, and monitoring of patients under sedation.
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills; ability to work collaboratively with physicians, technologists, and other healthcare professionals.

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to radiation, infectious diseases, and bodily fluids.
  • Requires the ability to stand for long periods and assist in patient transfers and positioning.
  • May require on-call duties, weekend, and holiday shifts as needed.
