Job Title: Medical Assistant

Position Summary:

The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in supporting physicians and healthcare providers by performing clinical and administrative tasks to ensure efficient and effective patient care. This role serves as a key liaison between patients and the healthcare team in various outpatient or clinical settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist healthcare providers during patient exams and procedures.
• Measure and document vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rate.
• Administer medications and immunizations (as certified and permitted by state regulations).
• Collect specimens (e.g., blood, urine) for lab testing and perform point-of-care testing as directed.
• Prepare exam rooms and ensure cleanliness and proper equipment setup.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records (EMR).
• Schedule appointments, verify insurance, and handle patient intake and discharge procedures.
• Provide patient education and follow-up instructions as directed by providers.
• Manage clinical supplies inventory and maintain equipment.
• Promote a safe, respectful, and compassionate environment for patients.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant training program preferred.
• Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA) preferred but not required.
• BLS/CPR certification required.
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in using EMR systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Previous experience in a clinical or ambulatory care setting is a plus.
