Job Title: BEST Program Readiness Lead

Duration: 12 Months
Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a BEST Program Readiness Lead to oversee a team of Readiness Liaisons and work closely with agency representatives and software integrators. This role is responsible for preparing agencies for the implementation of a new financial solution, assessing readiness, and ensuring a smooth transition. The ideal candidate has expertise in change management, business process transformation, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Readiness Planning & Execution

    • Develop and implement a readiness engagement plan to prepare agencies for adoption.

    • Assign agencies to Readiness Coordinators and establish agency “champions” for collaboration.

    • Conduct change readiness assessments and integrate findings into program planning.

  • Stakeholder & Team Leadership

    • Supervise 8-12 Readiness Liaisons, providing guidance and performance feedback.

    • Build strong relationships with agency leaders, employees, and program stakeholders.

    • Communicate program objectives and changes effectively across diverse audiences.

  • Technical & Operational Readiness

    • Identify and track technical tasks (interfaces, data warehouse queries, reporting needs).

    • Ensure end-user security provisioning aligns with best practices.

    • Verify system requirements for optimal performance of the new financial solution.

  • Implementation & Risk Management

    • Oversee agency-specific readiness plans, including communications, training, and security provisioning.

    • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.

    • Coordinate post-implementation support and issue resolution.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of experience in change management for large-scale organizations.

  • Proven leadership experience in managing teams and readiness initiatives.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio).

  • Ability to travel within the state as required.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with financial systems transformation in the public sector.

  • Understanding of business process mapping and enterprise financial functions (GAAP, Grants, Procurement, Contracts, AR/AP, Asset Management).
