Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (37.5 hours per week)
Contract Duration: 3+ Months

Job Summary:

Seeking a Patient Services Representative to support front desk operations in a healthcare setting. This role involves scheduling appointments, processing patient registrations, handling payments, and ensuring a smooth patient experience. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and experience with medical billing and insurance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments in IDX and Eagle systems.

  • Perform full patient registration, ensuring accuracy of clinical, financial, and demographic information.

  • Process payments, including co-pays and hospital charges, and reconcile deposits daily.

  • Verify insurance eligibility and manage managed care referrals.

  • Enter ICD-9-CM and CPT-4 codes into the system for billing and record-keeping.

  • Assist patients with directions, transportation arrangements, and general inquiries.

  • Maintain effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

  • Monitor patient flow in the waiting room and proactively resolve registration and processing issues.

  • Perform clerical tasks such as sorting mail, pulling lab results, and batching encounter forms.

  • Train and orient new or floating staff as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required).

  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology.

  • Basic understanding of CPT-4 and ICD-9-CM coding.

  • Ability to type 25–35 words per minute with accuracy.

  • Experience conducting patient financial interviews and collecting payments.

  • Familiarity with managed care and commercial insurance guidelines.

  • Strong multitasking skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
