Job Title: Medical Imaging Technologist – MRI 
Location: Healthcare Facilities across NJ, NY & Upstate NY 

Pay Range: From $3200/Week 

Job Summary: 

The Medical Imaging Technologist – MRI is responsible for performing high-quality magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures while ensuring patient safety and comfort. This role involves operating specialized imaging equipment, positioning patients, and maintaining compliance with safety standards. The technologist works closely with physicians, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver accurate diagnostic images. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Perform MRI imaging procedures using specialized equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images. 
  • Assist, prepare, and properly position patients for MRI procedures while ensuring their safety and comfort. 
  • Review patient safety questionnaires and adhere to MRI safety protocols before scanning. 
  • Ensure patients are properly screened before transitioning from Zone 2 to Zone 3. 
  • Administer contrast media and load power injectors under aseptic technique as needed. 
  • Apply technical expertise to obtain studies of optimal diagnostic quality based on written protocols and patient needs. 
  • Provide patient education regarding MRI procedures, including expectations, positioning, and post-procedure instructions. 
  • Label images appropriately and ensure proper transmission to the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS). 
  • Assist physicians during imaging procedures as required. 
  • Evaluate radiographs for technical accuracy and quality. 
  • Maintain cleanliness of imaging rooms and ensure all equipment is sanitized and functional at the beginning and end of each shift. 
  • Manage supplies and accessories needed to perform MRI procedures safely and effectively. 
  • Accurately input patient tracking information into the Radiology Information System (RIS). 
  • Schedule exams and ensure all completed studies are properly documented in the RIS. 
  • Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or unsafe conditions to the appropriate personnel. 
  • Follow infection control policies to prevent the spread of infections. 
  • Attend in-service training and professional development meetings as required. 
  • Maintain all necessary certifications and adhere to regulatory standards, including compliance with Article 35 of the Public Health Code. 

Required Skills & Qualifications: 

  • Strong knowledge of MRI imaging procedures and protocols. 
  • Ability to position patients effectively for optimal imaging results. 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for patient interaction and teamwork. 
  • Attention to detail and adherence to MRI safety protocols. 
  • Experience working with PACS and Radiology Information Systems (RIS). 

Education & Certifications: 

  • Education: Graduate of an AMA/JRCERT-approved program in Radiologic Technology. 
  • Licensing: 
  • State License as a Licensed Radiologic Technologist (L.R.T.). 
  • State IV Certification. 
  • Certifications: 
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) – MRI Certified. 
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification. 

Schedule: 

  • Hours Per Week: 37.50 
  • Hours Per Day: 7.50 
  • Days Per Week: 5.00
