Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Pediatric Emergency Department

Location: Neptune, NJ 07754
Contract: 13 Weeks
Hours Per Week: 36
Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (12-hour shifts) (Every other weekend required)

Job Summary:

The Pediatric Emergency Department (ED) Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality, compassionate, and efficient nursing care to pediatric patients in critical situations. The RN must be prepared to handle a wide range of trauma and emergency conditions, requiring swift and decisive actions. This role requires nurses with experience working in multiple children's hospitals and a strong background in pediatric care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized and innovative emergency care to pediatric patients.
• Quickly and accurately assess incoming patients, prioritizing medical and trauma needs.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to provide optimal patient care.
• Perform professional nursing services, including clinical assessments and interventions.
• Utilize critical thinking skills to formulate and implement individualized care plans.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare personnel.
• Maintain compliance with all hospital policies, procedures, and protocols.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum of 18 months of nursing experience in a pediatric ED setting.
• Recent ED experience within the past six months.
• Strong clinical knowledge and analytical abilities for effective patient care planning.
• Experience in Pedi ED, PICU, or NICU preferred.
• Previous experience in multiple children's hospitals with primarily pediatric cases.

Education Requirements:

• Required: Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ASN)
• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)

Certifications & Licensure Required:

• New Jersey State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - AHA
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - AHA
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS)
• Telemetry Certification
• 4-Hour Stroke CEU Contact Hours

• Preferred:
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - AHA
• Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC)
