Shift: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week (Day/Evening)

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled OB Scrub Tech to join our Labor & Delivery team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in maintaining a sterile operating environment, assisting with surgical procedures, and ensuring efficient workflow in the operating room (OR) and related areas. This role requires expertise in sterile techniques, instrument management, and patient care support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare & maintain OR, PACU, labor rooms, and related areas by stocking necessary supplies.
  • Maintain sterile technique and proper scrubbing, gowning, and gloving procedures.
  • Arrange the operative table and assist with surgical procedures, including:
    • Cesarean Section
    • Hysterectomy
    • Dilation & Curettage (D&C)
    • Manual placenta removal
    • Cervical laceration repair
  • Pass instruments and maintain accurate sponge and instrument counts.
  • Effectively communicate patient information to the nursing team and report any changes in patient condition.
  • Respond to patient/family requests, promptly answer call lights, and provide support as needed.
  • Ensure patient belongings and valuables are properly labeled and stored.
  • Exercise calm behavior and appropriate judgment in emergency situations.
  • Demonstrate proper equipment usage and care, ensuring readiness for procedures.
  • Follow NJ Department of Health regulations, JCAHO standards, and institutional policies.

Required Qualifications & Certifications:

  • Surgical Tech Certificate or OB Tech Certificate
  • American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification
  • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and sterile field maintenance.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment and respond to emergency situations.
  • Excellent team collaboration and communication skills.
