Job Title: Scheduling Coordinator CWR
Location: Paramus, NJ 07652
Duration: 4+ Months (Contract Role)
Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Pay Rate: $20 - $25 per hour (W2)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Scheduling Coordinator to coordinate all aspects of medical procedures, tests, and surgeries in a professional and efficient manner. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in medical scheduling, proficiency in medical terminology, and a strong understanding of HIPAA guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Schedule procedures, tests, and surgeries promptly while ensuring all necessary equipment is ordered.
• Verify patient demographics and insurance details, obtain prior authorizations, and coordinate with payers.
• Manage surgical schedules, coordinating appointments with physicians and adjusting as needed.
• Arrange for co-surgeons or assistants when required and coordinate with other departments (e.g., labs, nuclear medicine).
• Ensure all pre-operative documentation is complete, including consent forms, medical history, and physician orders.
• Schedule pre-surgery appointments, obtain medical clearances, and arrange for pre-admission testing.
• Track all procedures, including pending cases, surgical testing, and pathology results.
• Work closely with the coding department to ensure correct CPT and ICD-10 codes are applied.
• Provide excellent customer service by assisting patients with scheduling, financial concerns, and surgical preparation.
• Attend surgical service meetings at hospitals and participate in maintaining block time guidelines.
• Adapt to changing practice needs, providing cross-coverage and additional hours when necessary.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of experience as a medical secretary/receptionist or surgical scheduler.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• 2+ years of experience in a medical office setting.
• Familiarity with surgical coding (CPT & ICD-10).

Education Requirements:

• Required: High School Diploma/GED or HiSET (High School Equivalency Test).
