Registered Nurse – Cardiac Step-Down Nurse

Qualifications:

• Active RN license with experience in telemetry, step-down, or cardiac care units.
• ACLS and BLS certification required; CCRN preferred.
• Knowledge of post-cardiac surgery recovery, heart failure management, and rhythm monitoring.
• Strong understanding of cardiac medications, including drips and anticoagulants.

Duties:

• Care for post-cardiac surgery and post-myocardial infarction patients.
• Monitor heart rhythms and oxygenation levels using telemetry.
• Titrate cardiac medications and manage chest tubes or pacemakers.
• Educate patients on lifestyle changes and medication adherence.
• Collaborate with cardiologists, respiratory therapists, and rehabilitation teams.
• Ensure patient safety through early recognition of complications.
• Maintain accurate documentation of cardiac assessments and interventions.
