Patient Care Associate (PCA) - Mental Health Support - NYCPCT

Job Title: Patient Care Associate (PCA) - Mental Health Support

Duties:

• Assist with patient orientation to the unit and initial care planning during admission.
• Provide personal care services, including hygiene, feeding, and mobility support.
• Perform routine clinical tasks such as monitoring vital signs, EKGs, and specimen collection.
• Co-lead recreational and therapeutic group activities.
• Support patients in preparing for discharge, ensuring family and community resources are engaged.
• Respond to and manage patient crises, including restraint and seclusion procedures.
• Maintain infection control standards across all care activities.

Skills Required:

• Background in mental health, nursing, or law enforcement.
• Ability to perform venipuncture and EKGs.

Education:

• High school diploma or GED with 2 years of relevant experience OR an Associate’s degree in mental health or counseling.
• Certifications in BLS and CPI/PMCS required.

Pay Range:

• Weekly: $1,150 - $1,350
