Contract Duration: 5 Months

Schedule:

  • This role requires 10-15 hours weekly.
  • Manager prefers someone who can work set hours each day, such as 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

The Sourcing Associate role is an exciting opportunity to jumpstart your career in strategic sourcing and procurement. You will gain exposure to the functions of an Indirect Strategic Sourcing Department, deepen your sourcing and procurement skills, build valuable relationships, and make an immediate impact by driving savings and creating value for the organization.

In this role, you will support and lead sourcing projects within a designated category, which includes price/contract negotiations, financial analysis, and basic project management. This position reports to the Strategic Sourcing Category Manager, Procurement.

The role requires strong organizational skills, clear communication, problem-solving abilities, a desire to build positive working relationships, and a drive to achieve measurable results.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Sourcing

  1. Support or lead multiple sourcing projects within the assigned category. Common projects include:

    • Strategic sourcing events (RFPs).
    • Price negotiations and contract negotiations (with support from Legal Services).
    • Resolving supplier-related issues.
  2. Deliver value to the organization, including savings, risk reduction, avoidance, diversity, and sustainability initiatives.

  3. Adhere to the organization’s sourcing expectations and utilize provided tools and processes.

  4. Apply basic project management skills to execute projects effectively while engaging internal stakeholders.

  5. Build and maintain positive working relationships with stakeholders across the business.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Comfortable with problem-solving, asking questions, and maintaining a learning mindset.
  • Ability to develop and sustain collaborative working relationships.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills and process improvement abilities.
  • Demonstrates the ability to determine work steps based on management direction and provided templates/tools.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal), including leadership-level presentations.
  • Competent in data analysis and interpretation.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools: Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams; willing to learn procurement-specific software applications.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or 1-3 years of relevant business experience.
  • Familiarity with sourcing processes, contract negotiations, and procurement best practices is preferred but can be learned on the job.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Hybrid Schedule: "FlexWork" model requires three (3) days in the office per month, with the remainder remote.
