Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room (OR) 

Location: New Jersey (Traveler RN Role - Multiple Locations) 

Schedule: 

  • Hours Per Week: 36 
  • Hours Per Day: 12 
  • Days Per Week: 3 
  • Shift: 11:00 AM - 11:30 PM (Monday, Tuesday, Friday) 
  • No weekends or holidays. 
  • On-call: Minimum of 3 on-call shifts per month. 

Job Summary: 

The Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room is responsible for providing exceptional care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. This includes comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient needs. The role also involves supervising and evaluating non-nursing direct care providers in the operating room. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Assess and document patient needs, create interdisciplinary treatment plans, and evaluate patient responses to interventions. 
  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to ensure positive surgical outcomes. 
  • Scrub and circulate for various surgical procedures, including Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Robotic, and Endovascular surgeries. 
  • Maintain accurate documentation, preferably using Epic systems. 
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a safe and efficient operating room environment. 
  • Provide mentorship and oversight to non-nursing staff assigned to the OR. 
  • Uphold professional standards and prioritize patient safety and well-being. 

Required Skills & Experience: 

  • Minimum of 2 years of OR RN experience in at least one of the following specialties: Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Robotic, or Endovascular Surgery. 
  • Scrub and Circulating experience is mandatory. 
  • Epic documentation experience is preferred. 
  • Must demonstrate reliability and prioritize this role as a primary commitment. 

Education: 

  • Required: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN). 
  • Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). 

Certifications & Licensure: 

  • Required: 
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA. 
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS). 
  • Active NJ State RN license or a multi-state compact license. 
  • Preferred: 
  • CNOR (Certified Perioperative Nurse). 

Languages: 

  • English (Speak, Read, Write).
