Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – Full Time, Day Shift

Location: Flagstaff, Arizona

Position Overview:

As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing compassionate care and support to our valued Veterans and members. Your duties will encompass a range of essential tasks designed to promote physical well-being, comfort, and dignity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Veterans/Members with activities of daily living (ADLs), including transfers, ambulation, eating, bathing, dressing, toileting, and personal hygiene.
  • Follow instructions to utilize devices and simple procedures to strengthen and maintain the flexibility of Veterans/Members' limbs.
  • Support nursing staff in performing basic medical procedures such as enemas, suppositories, treatments, post-surgical care, and post-mortem care.
  • Monitor and document physical and mental status through vital signs and sample collections (urine, sputum, stool); track input/output as needed.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and complete worksheet documentation for assigned Veterans/Members.
  • Assist with dining needs, including transporting to the dining area, communicating menu options, and serving meals as needed.
  • Ensure comfort and support for Veterans/Members, responding promptly to requests in line with the Resident Bill of Rights.
  • Uphold cleanliness and hygiene in designated areas, including changing bedding and linens.
  • Assist licensed nurses during emergencies, adhering to established protocols.
  • Perform additional duties, such as clerical support and escorting Veterans/Members to off-site appointments.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year in a Skilled Nursing/Long-term Care setting and 2 years as a CNA.

Education & Certifications:

  • Fingerprint clearance card from the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
  • Active or temporary CNA/LPN/RN license in the State of Arizona.
  • Current CPR certification obtained through physical assessment.
