Job Title: RN - Pediatric ICU

Location: Bronx, NY 10461

Duration: 3 Months

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) team. This role requires a dedicated RN with specialized skills in maternal and child care, IV insertion, phlebotomy, and conscious sedation to support critical care for pediatric patients.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients, ensuring best practices in patient safety and comfort.
  • Perform IV insertion, phlebotomy, and conscious sedation as needed, utilizing advanced skills and adherence to protocols.
  • Monitor and assess patients, responding to critical needs and changes in condition with appropriate interventions.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team, including physicians and other nurses, to deliver effective patient care.
  • Document patient care in a clear and accurate manner to maintain quality and continuity of care.

Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in maternal and child healthcare.
  • Proficiency in IV insertion, phlebotomy, and conscious sedation.
  • Strong communication skills to support a collaborative environment and provide guidance to patients and families.

Education:

  • Active New York State RN License with primary source verification.
  • Current certifications in AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) and AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.

Certifications & Licenses:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • IV and Phlebotomy certification or relevant experience

Languages:

  • Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing)

Work Schedule:

  • Hours per Week: 34.5
  • Hours per Day: 11.5
  • Days per Week: 3
  • Note: Anticipated increase in patient census over the next three weeks
