Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for the Adult Emergency Room to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. This role requires an RN with a solid foundation in emergency nursing, including IV insertion, phlebotomy, and conscious sedation, to provide direct patient care and support during critical situations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional nursing care to adult patients in the Emergency Room, adhering to facility protocols and safety standards.
  • Perform IV insertions and phlebotomy efficiently and with precision.
  • Administer conscious sedation, ensuring patient comfort and safety during procedures.
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to evaluate, plan, and implement patient care.
  • Educate patients and families on post-treatment care and ER procedures as needed.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of flexibility and responsiveness in meeting the demands of a dynamic ER setting.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent Emergency Room experience, including IV insertion, phlebotomy, and conscious sedation.
  • Licensure and Certifications:
    • Valid New York State RN License (Primary Source Verified).
    • Current AHA BLS (Basic Life Support) and AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications.
    • AHA PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification.
    • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification, required only for positions at Bellevue, Kings County, and Jacobi.
    • IV/Phlebotomy experience.

Schedule:

  • Hours: 34.5 hours per week; 11.5 hours per shift, 3 shifts per week.
  • Requirements: Rotating weekends and holiday shifts are required. Flexibility in scheduling to meet the needs of the facility is essential.
