Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Neurosurgical ICU

Hours Per Week: 36 hours
Shift Details: 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM), 3 days per week
Weekend/Holiday Requirements: Every other weekend required; holidays as needed
Float Requirement: May float to MICU, SICU, CVICU as needed
Contract Type: Full-time

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Neurosurgical ICU to join our critical care team in Neptune, NJ. This role focuses on providing comprehensive, patient-centered care for neurosurgical ICU patients, with a strong emphasis on critical care standards and innovative practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Assessment and Care: Evaluate and assist with patient care based on initial and ongoing assessments, including planning, implementing, and documenting individualized nursing care.
• Nursing Interventions: Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and manage patient care based on priority needs, medical diagnosis, and clinical requirements.
• Care Documentation: Document all care in alignment with standards of practice, patient acuity, and clinical priorities.
• Advocacy and Best Practices: Support evidence-based practice care standards and champion innovations in care delivery.
• Patient-Centered Care: Provide compassionate, individualized care in line with the professional nursing practice model.
• Additional Duties: Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Skills and Experience Requirements:

• Required Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of recent critical care experience.
• Preferred Experience: Experience with neurosurgical patients, vent management, and external ventricular drain (EVD) management.

Educational Requirements:

• Required Education: Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ASN).
• Preferred Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN).

Licensure and Certifications:

• Required:
  • NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - AHA
  • Telemetry Certification or demonstrated competency
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification
  • CEU Contact Stroke (4 Hours)

Language Requirements:

• English: Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing.
