Job Title: Dental Assistant 
Location: Bronx, NY 10451
Duration: 3 Months

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Dental Assistant to support the delivery of high-quality dental services in a patient-focused environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of dental procedures and patient care, including preparing patients for exams, assisting chairside, and maintaining instruments and equipment.

Duties:

  • Prepare patients for examination and treatment, ensuring comfort and readiness for procedures.
  • Assist in dental procedures, including mixing amalgams, cements, and composites.
  • Take and develop dental x-rays, maintain accurate patient records, and perform lab procedures as assigned.
  • Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment in compliance with health and safety standards.

Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Dental Assistant.
  • Ability to effectively support a dental care team and maintain a sterile and organized work environment.

Education Requirements:

  • Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must meet at least one of the following educational and experience pathways:
    1. A four-year high school diploma or equivalent, plus 600 instructional hours at an approved Dental Assistant program.
    2. A high school diploma or equivalent, plus 300 instructional hours at an approved program, along with six months of full-time Dental Assistant experience.
    3. A high school diploma or equivalent, plus one year of full-time Dental Assistant experience performing chairside assistance, sterilizing instruments, and taking x-rays.
    4. A satisfactory combination of education and experience equivalent to the above qualifications.
      Note: Experience as a receptionist or clerk in a dentist’s office does not qualify towards meeting the requirements.

Certifications & Licensure:

  • Must meet state-specific requirements for Dental Assistants.

Language Requirement:

  • English: Must be proficient in speaking, reading, and writing.

Schedule:

  • Hours: 40 hours per week; 8-hour shifts, Monday - Friday and Saturdays, with rotating hours.
  • Shift Options:
    • 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
    • 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
    • 9:30 AM - 5:30 PM
