Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - NICU CWR

Location: Edison, NJ 08818

Duration: 3 Months

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care. Key duties include:

  • Planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care based on patient needs.
  • Identifying patient needs and determining priorities through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
  • Developing and coordinating individualized plans of care for assigned patients through initial and ongoing assessments.
  • Initiating assessments based on patient problems or needs, the physician’s medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework.
  • Performing therapeutic nursing interventions and managing patient care.
  • Documenting care based on standards of practice, patient acuity, and clinical priorities.
  • Advocating for evidence-based practices and supporting the adoption of innovations in care delivery.
  • Providing patient-centric care aligned with the professional nursing practice model.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a related specialty.

Education:

  • Required: ASN.
  • Preferred: BSN.

Certifications & Licensure:

  • Required:
    • BLS (AHA).
    • NRP (AHA Only).
    • NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license.

Languages: English (Speak, Read, Write).

Hours per Week: 36
Hours per Day: 12
Days per Week: 3

Schedule Notes:

  • 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM, every other weekend required.
  • 1 holiday per season.
  • No on-call requirement.
  • At least 2 years of recent NICU RN experience required.
  • Experience stabilizing babies in labor and delivery is preferred.
  • RN will be responsible for admissions in labor and delivery, working in the level 2 NICU.
  • When the NICU or Special Care Nursery is closed, the RN will assist with the babies on the maternity unit or perform admissions nursery duties.
  • RN will not be floated for an RN assignment but may take on a PCT role, assisting with vitals and supporting the nursing staff.
