Job Title: Vascular Tech - Contract
Location: NYC, NY 10003
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM

Duration: 2 Months

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Vascular Coordinator to perform both basic and advanced ultrasound examinations in accordance with established protocols. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality imaging services and ensuring patient safety throughout the examination process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform basic and advanced ultrasound scans as prescribed by established protocols.
  • Review doctors' interpretations and patient files, and monitor patients during examinations.
  • Assist in the performance of interventional procedures as needed.
  • Apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, positioning, and imaging techniques to optimize the quality of ultrasound images.
  • Capture images onto the PACS system and transfer images to physician workstations.
  • Evaluate images prior to releasing patients to ensure the studies are diagnostic.
  • Prepare the exam room for procedures by ensuring all inventory and stock are available before the arrival of the radiologist.
  • Participate in the performance and documentation of quality control, quality assurance, and improvement activities.
  • Inform appropriate personnel of any equipment failures and document the type of problem and associated downtime.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the work area and equipment to comply with established infection control and departmental protocols.
  • Operate and care for testing equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Provide patient education related to specific ultrasound studies.
  • Ensure the safety of patients and family members during procedures.
  • Communicate effectively and compassionately with patients, family members, and other employees.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills:

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience performing ultrasounds is preferred.
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Education: Graduate of a two-year ultrasound program with clinical and didactic education.

Certifications & Licenses:

  • ARDMS or CCI certification is required.
  • Infection Control certification is preferred.
