Job Title: Vascular Tech - Contract
Location: New York, NY 10016
Hours Per Week: 37.5
Shift: 7.5 hours/day, 5 days/week

Job Summary:

The Vascular Tech performs both basic and advanced ultrasound examinations in accordance with established protocols. This role involves capturing high-quality diagnostic images, assisting in interventional procedures, and ensuring the safety and comfort of patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform basic and advanced ultrasound scans as per protocols.
  • Review doctor’s interpretations and patient files, while monitoring patients during the procedure.
  • Assist in interventional procedures as needed.
  • Apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and imaging techniques to optimize ultrasound image quality.
  • Capture images using the PACS system and transfer them to physician workstations.
  • Evaluate images to ensure they are diagnostic before releasing the patient.
  • Prepare exam rooms and ensure necessary inventory and equipment are ready for procedures.
  • Participate in quality control and improvement activities, and report equipment failures.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the work area and equipment to adhere to infection control protocols.
  • Educate patients about the ultrasound procedure and ensure their safety and comfort.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues in a compassionate manner.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 1 year of experience performing ultrasounds is preferred.
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or CCI certification.
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Suite.

Education: Graduate of a two-year ultrasound program with clinical and didactic education.

Certifications & Licenses:

  • ARDMS or CCI certification.
  • Infection Control certification.

Language Skills: English: Speak, Read, Write
