Job Title: CNA – Long Term Care (LTC)
Location: Edison, NJ 08820
Duration: 13 Weeks (extendable)
Shift: Monday – Friday, 7 AM - 3 PM / 3 PM - 11:30 PM / 11 PM - 7 AM

Position Summary: The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct patient care under the supervision of an RN. The CNA is responsible for ensuring patient safety and assisting the healthcare team in achieving established care outcomes.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide direct hygiene and comfort care, including bathing, toileting, oral hygiene, incontinence care, and bed making.
  • Take and document vital signs, reporting results to the RN as required.
  • Perform and document glucose finger sticks, and collect specimens such as stool, urine, and sputum.
  • Obtain and document daily patient weights, and monitor and document patient intake and output.
  • Ensure a safe patient environment by promptly responding to call lights and notifying the RN of any patient condition changes.
  • Serve as a patient sitter when necessary.
  • Maintain cleanliness in patient rooms and the nursing unit.
  • Adapt care delivery to meet specific needs related to age, culture, and impairments (e.g., hearing or vision).
  • Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and family members according to their level of understanding.

Requirements:

  • 13-week assignment with shifts from 7 AM - 3 PM, 3 PM - 11:30 PM, or 11 PM - 7 AM.
  • Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
  • Holiday requirement: 4 of 6 holidays
  • On-call: Not required
  • Float requirement: Yes
  • At least 2 to 3 years of experience in LTC (Long-Term Care), SAR (Subacute Rehabilitation), ERU (Extended Recovery Unit), and Ventilator care.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Submission Requirements:

  • Certified Nursing Assistant or nursing student enrolled in a BSN program with completed clinical and theoretical fundamentals of nursing.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association.

Required Certifications:

  • BLS (AHA)
  • CNA Certification
