Job Title: Registered Nurse Emergency Department
Location: Austell, GA
Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM (3Days X 12Hours)

Job Summary:

The RN in the Emergency Department is part of an interdisciplinary team responsible for providing high-quality and safe patient care. This involves using evidence-based practice, supporting Professional Practice Model, and adhering to nursing competencies derived from these standards.

Job description:

  • Perform assessments, diagnosis, planning, and evaluation of clinical care. Ensure that care is individualized, evidence-based, and uses critical thinking.
  • Provide care that reflects understanding of age, gender, disease, and cultural diversity. Involve patients and families in the care process.
  • Always follow current clinical standards and best practices.
  • Ensure care is safely documented and delivered through interdisciplinary communication and respectful collaboration.
  • Promote recruitment and retention of healthcare team members and participate in performance improvement efforts.
  • Actively engage in shared governance activities and interdisciplinary performance improvement projects.
  • Complete professional competency assessments and participate in mandatory and population-specific education.
  • Serve as a preceptor or mentor for new nurses and students, helping build the future workforce and fostering a healthy work environment.
  • Support nursing research and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare system policies, legal regulations, and accreditation standards such as TJC Patient Safety Goals.
  • Participate in data collection and consult with experts to address clinical practice questions.
  • Proactively plan patient care across the continuum, collaborating with care managers to achieve the best outcomes.
  • Participate in developing protocols to prevent re-admissions and adverse events.
  • Efficiently use human and material resources to support care delivery.

Education:

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN).

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Registered Nurse License (single or multi-state compact)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Skills:

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, and speaking)
  • Basic computer and technology skills
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and time management skills.
  • Ability to respond decisively and calmly in emergencies.
  • Use analytical skills to support evidence-based nursing practices.
