Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse
Location: Phoenix, AZ, 85012
Duration: 2 Years
Shift: 08 hrs/day & 40 hrs/week (Day shift)

Pay: $40-42/hourly

Job Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse 2 (LPN 2) carries out all geriatric nursing care, treatment, and services in a professional and prescribed manner within the scope of their license. The LPN 2 ensures a safe, therapeutic, and hygienic environment while assigning and overseeing the duties of subordinate staff. This role provides a variety of nursing care for infirm geriatric residents and supervises and trains subordinate staff in resident care. The LPN 2 observes and reports on resident behavior and physical condition, administers medical treatments as per the plan of care, and may serve as a lead or provide limited supervision. The LPN 2 works under the supervision of an RN or physician.

Skills Required:

  • Understanding of gerontological/geriatric nursing theory and practice
  • Knowledge of resident condition and evolving medical/physical/psychological care needs
  • Familiarity with the effects of the aging process
  • Proficiency in team nursing practices and implementation of treatment plans
  • Knowledge of pharmacology, medication practices, and legal regulations on medical supplies and their control
  • Skill in practical nursing methods, techniques, and observing/reporting patient behavior and progress
  • Ability to apply and interpret State and agency laws governing geriatric nursing
  • Competence in developing and implementing patient care plans within a team nursing environment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills to work with diverse populations and difficult situations
  • Ability to assess client needs and evaluate the suitability of resources

Experience Required: One or more years of Skilled Nursing Facility or Long-Term Care experience preferred.

License Required:

  • State of AZ LPN
  • BLS Certification
