Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU Step-Down (CWR)
Location: Neptune, NJ
Shift time: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (3 Days x 12Hours )
Department: ICU Step-Down Unit

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide care to patients transitioning from ICU-level care to a lower level of care, monitoring critical but stable patients.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed, ensuring accuracy and adherence to care plans.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and respiratory status, responding swiftly to any changes.
  • Assess and document patient conditions, communicating changes to the healthcare team to adjust care plans as needed.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, respiratory therapists, and other nursing staff, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Provide emotional support and patient education to help individuals and their families understand their recovery process.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures, promoting a safe and effective care environment.

Experience & Skills:

  • 2+ years of ICU or Step-Down experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of critical care protocols and ability to manage high-acuity patients.
  • Ability to care for post-ICU patients with complex medical conditions.
  • Must be adaptable and willing to float to other units as needed (MedSurg, Telemetry, etc.).

Certifications:

  • BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications required.
  • CCRN certification preferred.

Additional Notes:

  • Must be highly reliable and available for all scheduled shifts except those pre-disclosed prior to offer.
  • Responsible for caring for COVID-19 patients when required.
  • No alternative jobs should interfere with the priority of this schedule.

Schedule Notes:

  • Every other weekend required.
  • Floating to other units (MedSurg, Telemetry, etc.) may be required.
