Position: X-Ray Technician 
Location: New York, NY 10017

Job Summary:

The X-Ray Technician will operate or oversee the operation of radiologic and magnetic imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images of the body. This role involves preparing patients for radiological procedures, adhering to safety measures, and ensuring compliance with regulations to maintain the safety of both patients and staff.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Establish rapport with patients and others to understand service requirements and gain patient cooperation.
  • Prepare patients for radiological procedures by positioning them, adjusting immobilization devices, and setting equipment controls.
  • Minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques and adhering to infection control policies.
  • Maintain the quality of radiographs by following standards and procedures, processing radiographs, and making necessary adjustments.
  • Document patient care services and complete verification of exams in patient and department records.
  • Ensure proper operation and maintenance of radiology equipment, including preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Manage radiology supplies inventory and ensure a safe and clean working environment.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through continuing education and participation in professional societies.
  • Complete yearly Age Specific Competency and perform other relevant duties as assigned.

Skills:

  • No prior experience required.
  • New York State Dept. of Health Licensed Radiologic Technologist.
  • Competency in performing diagnostic procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills in a team environment.
  • Quality-focused, dependable, and able to create a safe, effective environment.

Education:

  • Graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology.
  • Minimum Licensing Requirements: New York State License (L.R.T), American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certified.

  • Hours Per Week: 37.5
  • Hours Per Day: 7.5
  • Days Per Week: 5
  • Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
  • Schedule Notes: Urgent Hire; Floating Position
