ICU Step Down Registered Nurse - ICUSDRN24-13639

Role: Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU Step Down
Location: Brooklyn, NY 11206
Shift: 7:30 PM - 8:00 AM
Contract: 13+ weeks
Pay Rate: Open To Discuss

Responsibilities:

• RN to patient ratio of 1:4, covering a range from young adults to geriatrics
• Monitor patients using medical equipment such as catheters, feeding tubes, tracheostomies, ventilators, and cardiac monitors
• Provide care for patients transitioning from ICU requiring more attention than general medical-surgical unit patients
• Conduct frequent patient assessments and escalate any changes in medical condition
• Respond to cardiac arrest and rapid response codes

Requirements:

• Graduation from an accredited National League of Nursing School with a Baccalaureate degree or satisfactory equivalent combination of training, education, and experience
• Licensed to practice as a professional nurse in New York State
• Minimum of two years of Medical/Surgical Step Down or ICU experience, including IV insertion, phlebotomy, and conscious sedation
• BLS & ACLS certification
• Demonstrate satisfactory completion of age-specific competency
• Rotating weekends and holidays required
