Job Title: Pediatric Emergency Room Nurse
Location: Norfolk, Virginia, 23507
Shift: Variable, 3x12-hour shifts per week, including overnights and holidays
Duration: 13 Weeks

Job Description:
We are urgently seeking experienced Pediatric Emergency Room Nurses for an immediate start. The ideal candidates will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a high-acuity Emergency Department and be proficient in managing the diverse needs of pediatric patients, including mental health concerns. This role requires flexibility in scheduling and the ability to work 12-hour shifts, including nights and holidays. Candidates must also be prepared to work up to 48 hours per week if needed.

Core Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality emergency care to pediatric patients in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
• Manage a range of emergency situations and provide age-appropriate care.
• Address the growing needs of mental health patients in the emergency room.
• Utilize triage skills to prioritize patient care effectively.
• Demonstrate the ability to work a flexible schedule, including overnight shifts and holidays.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Pediatric Emergency Department nursing.
• Experience with triage and high-acuity emergency care.
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certifications.
• Willingness to obtain CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification.
• Proven experience in caring for pediatric patients from infancy to age 18.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule with variable shifts, including nights and holidays.
• Flu vaccinations due by October 15, 2024 (no exemptions allowed).
