Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF)

Location: Brooklyn, NY, 11203
Shift Time:
11:00 PM-7:30 AM (40 Hours a Week)

Purpose of Position: Under the direct supervision of a licensed Nurse or other professional medical staff, the CNA performs a range of clerical and health-related tasks associated with patient care.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the physical care of patients, including procedures like changing simple dressings, taking vital signs, administering enemas, etc. Record personal care provided.
  2. Prepare patients for examinations by performing procedures such as measuring temperature, pulse, respiration, height, and weight, and assist in the examination process. Record findings in patient charts.
  3. Observe and report on patients’ and families’ conditions, mental states, and social behaviors.
  4. Participate in nursing and interdisciplinary health team conferences to assess and plan patient care programs.
  5. Assist in recreational and resocialization activities as part of the nursing care program.
  6. Set up and arrange examination rooms.
  7. Assist with admission procedures and visitor regulation, as well as care for patients' clothing and property.
  8. Prepare patients for meals and provide assistance with feeding when necessary.
  9. Change linens, make beds, and maintain clean and orderly wards, utility, and treatment rooms.
  10. Provide postmortem care.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a nursing home setting.

Education:

  • Graduate of an approved CNA program.
  • NYS CNA Certification (required).
  • Primary Source Verification (required).
  • AHA BLS Certification (required).

Certifications & Licenses:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).

Languages:

  • English (speak, read, write).

Schedule:

  • Hours per week: 40 (8 hours per day, 5 days per week).
  • Required to work every other weekend.
