Position: Registered Nurse Unit Manager

Shift: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Meal Break: 30 minutes

Location: Pembroke, NC

Contract Duration: 9 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week (5 x 8-hour shifts)
Days: Rotating on-call schedule (no fixed days)

Pay Rate: $60/hr. on W2

Role Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse Unit Manager for a 9-week contract position. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Director of Nursing by delivering high-quality nursing care. This role involves overseeing the operations of the assigned unit, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and managing unit staff to optimize patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Director of Nursing in providing efficient and effective nursing care to achieve positive clinical outcomes.
  • Lead, guide, and manage the overall operations and coordination of nursing and patient care within the assigned unit.
  • Ensure patient care is delivered in line with accepted standards of practice, as well as state and federal regulations and licensing requirements.
  • Collaborate with staff, physicians, rehabilitation therapists, and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
  • Oversee human resources functions within the unit, including reducing overtime and agency use, recruiting and orienting new staff, evaluating staff performance, and implementing disciplinary actions as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current RN licensure with the State Board of Examiners of Nurses.
  • BSN with a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, or an Associate Degree with at least 3 years of nursing experience.
  • Minimum of one year of proven leadership experience (e.g., head nurse, supervisor).
  • Preferred: At least one year of experience in a skilled nursing environment.
