Job Description:

The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) will provide support across multiple school sites for the 2024/2025 school year, working with students in elementary and preschool settings. This is a full-time position requiring 37.5 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assessments and Evaluations:

    • Conduct speech, language, and hearing screenings for students.
    • Perform comprehensive assessments to identify communication disorders.
    • Collaborate with educators and parents to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students as needed.
  2. Therapy and Interventions:

    • Provide speech and language therapy to students based on individualized goals.
    • Develop and implement appropriate treatment plans for children with speech or language impairments.
    • Monitor progress and adjust interventions to meet students' evolving needs.
  3. Collaboration and Documentation:

    • Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and school staff to support students’ speech and language development.
    • Document progress and prepare reports according to school and state requirements.
    • Participate in IEP meetings and provide recommendations on speech-language needs.
  4. Supportive Duties:

    • Assist in the development of communication strategies to support learning in the classroom.
    • Provide consultation services to classroom teachers and other staff.
    • Travel between assigned school sites as required.

Requirements:

  • Licensure and Certification:
    • Must hold a valid California Speech-Language Pathology license.
    • Certification from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) is required.
