Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our Neurosurgery Operations team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical assistance and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Billing and Coding: Accurately prepare and process billing and coding for all services provided.
  • Patient Interaction: Conduct thorough patient interviews to gather detailed medical histories and assess current health conditions.
  • Procedure Preparation: Prepare patients for neurosurgical procedures by clearly explaining what to expect and providing necessary reassurance.
  • Assistance in Procedures: Support neurosurgeons during procedures by providing required instruments and supplies efficiently.
  • Instrument Sterilization: Prepare, sterilize, and maintain surgical instruments, ensuring a sterile field is consistently upheld.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Comply with all healthcare regulations, including infection control procedures and HIPAA guidelines.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with neurosurgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated and high-quality patient care.
  • Patient Education: Provide clear and comprehensive education to patients and their families regarding neurosurgical procedures, post-operative care, and medication management.
  • Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance information and assist with the authorization process for insurance coverage.

Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant.
  • Proven experience in a clinical setting, preferably in neurosurgery or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of billing and coding procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficiency in maintaining a sterile environment and adhering to infection control practices.
  • Flexibility to float between various clinic locations as needed.
