Job Description:

7 WEEK CONTRACT

• Position / Specialty: ER Tech
• Shift: Days/Evenings (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM and 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM)
• Patient Visits Per Day: 90-130
• Experience Required: Minimum 1 year of experience
• First-timers Accepted: Yes
• Weekend Requirement: Will work up to every other weekend as needed
• Certifications Required: BLS (Preferred: PALS, ACLS, EMT, EMT-B)
• Floating Requirement: May be floated to Med/Surg or SCU unit as an attendant as needed
• Pending License: Accepted
• Requested Time Off (RTO) Restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days

Special Requirements:

• Work Setting Experience Required: Acute Care, Urgent Care, Trauma Level 3, Teaching
• Work Setting Experience Preferred: Urgent Care, Trauma Level 1, Trauma Level 2, Children's Hospital
• General Skills Experience Required: Vital Signs, 12-lead EKG, AED/Defibrillator, Splinting, Wound Care, Crutch Training
• Patient Care Tech Experience: Minimum of 1 year of ED experience required

Education and Certifications:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Associate's or Vocational degree in a health-related field preferred.
• Certifications:
  • BLS Tier 1 - Basic Life Support required within 30 days of hire.
  • Licensed Emergency Medical Tech - EMT certification required if working in MN or WI.
  • Medical Terminology knowledge preferred.
