Job Title: Telemetry Registered Nurse

Job Summary: The Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Telemetry is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care. The RN will plan, implement, and document nursing care based on patient needs, ensuring a patient-centric approach that aligns with professional nursing practices.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patients and assist physicians in providing care. Plan, implement, and document nursing care based on patient assessments.
  • Identify patient needs and determine priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
  • Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized care plans for patients based on initial and ongoing assessments.
  • Initiate assessments based on patient needs, physician diagnoses, and the functional health framework.
  • Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and manage patient care. Document care according to standards of practice, patient acuity, and clinical priorities.
  • Advocate for evidence-based practice care standards and support the adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery.
  • Provide patient-centric care in alignment with the professional nursing practice model. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in Telemetry nursing.
  • Ability to support admitted patients holding in the ED area.

Education:

  • Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing (ASN). Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN). Telemetry Certification or Telemetry Competency Exam is required.

Required Certifications & Licensure:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA
  • New Jersey State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA

Languages: English (Speak, Read, Write)

Schedule Notes:

  • Support admitted patients holding in the ED area.
  • Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, 3 x 12-hour shifts.
  • Every other weekend required, holidays required.
  • No on-call requirement.
  • Float requirement: Yes, within similar telemetry units within the facility.
