Job Title: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse

Job Summary: The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Labor and Delivery (L&D) department is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care. This role involves planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care based on the patient’s needs and priorities through comprehensive assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.

Responsibilities:

  • Patient Evaluation: Assess and evaluate patients to determine care needs and priorities.
  • Nursing Care: Plan, implement, and document individualized nursing care for patients.
  • Patient Assessment: Initiate assessment based on the patient’s problems, physician’s medical diagnosis, and functional health framework.
  • Therapeutic Interventions: Perform therapeutic nursing interventions.
  • Patient Management: Manage the care of patients throughout their stay.
  • Documentation: Document care based on standards of care, patient acuity, and clinical priorities.
  • Advocacy: Advocate for evidence-based practice care standards and support the adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery.
  • Patient-Centric Care: Provide patient-centric care in alignment with the professional nursing practice model.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Education: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)

Preferred Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Required Certifications & Licensure:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • New Jersey State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license

Preferred Certifications & Licensure:

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Advanced Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) or Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM)

Languages: English (Speak, Read, Write)

Schedule:

  • Hours Per Week: 36.00
  • Hours Per Day: 12.00
  • Days Per Week: 3.00
  • Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM (3 x 12hr shifts)
  • Weekends: Required as scheduled
  • Holidays: Required as scheduled
  • On-Call Requirement: No on-call requirement
