Location: Neptune, NJ & Manahawkin, NJ

Hours Per Day: 12.00
Days Per Week: 3.00
Schedule: 13-week assignment, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM (3 x 12-hour shifts)
Weekend and Holiday Requirement: As Needed
On-Call: Required
Float Requirement: To like areas
Preferred Certification: CNOR

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) - OR is responsible for applying the nursing process to the care of patients undergoing surgical procedures in the operating room. This includes ensuring that documentation reflects accurate patient assessment, interdisciplinary treatment plans, clinical intervention, and evaluation of patients' responses to treatments. The RN is also responsible for supervising and evaluating the work of non-nursing direct care providers assigned to the operating room.

Duties:

• Provide nursing care to veteran patients during surgical procedures.
• Ensure appropriate documentation of patient assessments, treatments, and responses.
• Develop and implement interdisciplinary treatment plans.
• Supervise and evaluate the work of non-nursing staff in the OR.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare personnel.

Skills:

• Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities to develop effective nursing care plans.
• Ability to perform a wide range of professional nursing services.
• Strong communication skills for interactions with patients, families, and hospital staff.

Education and Certifications:

• Valid New Jersey or multi-state compact RN license.
• Required Certifications: BLS-AHA, NIHSS.
• Preferred Certification: ACLS-AHA, CNOR.
