Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM (includes a 30-minute break)
Additional Shift Details: Commitment to work one Saturday per month.

Description:

As a Physical Therapist at NYP Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, you will be responsible for providing high-quality physical therapy services to patients in both inpatient acute bedside and inpatient acute rehab settings. You will assess, plan, and implement individualized treatment plans to help patients achieve their physical rehabilitation goals.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Patient Assessment: Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients to determine physical therapy needs and establish appropriate treatment goals.
• Treatment Planning: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments, ensuring that therapy goals are specific, measurable, and attainable.
• Therapeutic Interventions: Provide therapeutic interventions, including exercises, manual therapy, and functional training to improve patients' mobility, strength, and overall physical function.
• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure comprehensive patient care and optimal outcomes.
• Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, exercises, and strategies for maintaining physical health and preventing injury.
• Documentation: Accurately document patient assessments, treatment plans, interventions, and progress in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards in all aspects of patient care.

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy - Required
• Experience: Experience working in an inpatient acute bedside setting and inpatient acute rehab setting - Required
• Certification: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification - Required
• Licensure: NYS Physical Therapist License - Required
• Permit: Limited Permit as per NYS Practice Act for Physical Therapists
• Skills: Knowledge of physical therapy practices and principles - Required
