Job Summary

The Senior Application Developer is responsible for maintaining, enhancing, and supporting enterprise case and workflow management systems built on CA Plex. This role ensures the stability, performance, and security of mission-critical applications while supporting ongoing modernization initiatives. The position involves working with legacy systems, managing integrations, and improving data quality and system functionality.


Key Responsibilities

Application Maintenance & Support

  • Maintain and support CA Plex-based applications across multiple environments
  • Troubleshoot production issues, defects, and data inconsistencies
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term solutions
  • Provide escalation support for critical system issues

Feature Enhancements & Development

  • Design and implement enhancements within CA Plex models
  • Modify business rules, workflows, screens, batch jobs, and reports
  • Ensure updates align with business and regulatory requirements

CA Plex Model Development

  • Update and manage objects, functions, and relationships within CA Plex
  • Regenerate and deploy application components
  • Maintain integrity of model-driven architecture

Database & Data Management

  • Develop and optimize SQL Server (T-SQL) queries and stored procedures
  • Perform data corrections and ensure data integrity across systems
  • Optimize performance for large-scale datasets

System Integration

  • Support and maintain integrations with internal and external systems
  • Assist in transitioning legacy integrations to modern API-based solutions
  • Ensure seamless data exchange across platforms

Reporting & Analytics Support

  • Develop data extracts and reporting queries
  • Support data warehouse integration and reporting needs
  • Collaborate with analytics teams to ensure data consistency

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Support cross-functional initiatives and modernization efforts

Documentation & Knowledge Transfer

  • Document system changes, business rules, and technical processes
  • Provide knowledge transfer and mentorship to internal teams

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 10+ years of application development experience
  • 7+ years of experience with CA Plex or similar model-driven/4GL environments
  • 7+ years of experience with SQL Server and T-SQL
  • 7+ years of experience supporting enterprise or legacy systems
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Experience in government, judicial, or public sector environments
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts (star/snowflake schema)
  • Experience with Power BI backend optimization
  • Familiarity with .NET data access patterns
  • Experience with Always On Availability Groups
  • Experience with Azure DevOps
  • Familiarity with security tools (e.g., web application firewalls or data protection solutions)
  • Experience modernizing legacy systems and data structures
  • Experience with API integrations and batch processing systems
