Basic Duties:
Perform ultrasound procedures in accordance with department protocols within the designated timeframes.
Conduct portable ultrasound exams when needed.
Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment; assist with deep abdominal and color-flow studies, including biopsies.
Utilize systems such as EPIC and TeleTracking for patient records and workflow management.
Prepare patients for procedures, explain steps clearly, and ensure correct positioning.
Evaluate and ensure the technical quality of all imaging produced.
Maintain accurate imaging records, including archiving and de-archiving data.
Sterilize and restock medical instruments and supplies as necessary.
Provide support and training to students, new employees, and medical residents.
Perform routine equipment calibration and maintenance.
Required Skills & Experience:
Minimum 2 years of experience in diagnostic ultrasound imaging.
Certifications (Required Prior to Start):
BLS (Basic Life Support) – American Heart Association
RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) certification
Job Title: Certified Surgical Technician Location: New York, NY 10019 Shift: 07:00 AM – 3:15 PM | 5 Days a Week Duration: 13 Weeks (with a strong possibility of extension)
Compensation: $1,700 – $2,000 weekly gross (based on experience)
Job Overview:
We are seeking a Certified Surgical Technician for a 13-week contract opportunity at a respected healthcare facility in New York, NY. The ideal candidate will have recent operating room experience and strong knowledge of aseptic techniques and surgical procedures. This is a full-time, Monday through Friday role with consistent daytime hours.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform scrub duties in accordance with established surgical guidelines and aseptic principles.
Complete surgical scrub, gowning, and gloving procedures.
Set up sterile instrument tables and prepare supplies based on the type of operation.
Assist with draping of the patient and surgical field.
Anticipate the surgeon's needs by providing instruments, sutures, and other supplies.
Monitor the patient during procedures and respond quickly to any emergencies.
Maintain an accurate count of sponges, needles, and instruments in collaboration with the circulating nurse; report discrepancies according to policy.
Ensure aseptic technique is maintained throughout the procedure and implement corrective measures if contamination occurs.
Handle specimens properly and assist with the application of dressings and drainage systems.
Transfer patients safely using approved techniques and equipment.
Decontaminate and dispose of soiled materials and prepare instruments for reprocessing.
Support circulating nurse functions and assemble necessary surgical supplies.
Operate and adjust surgical tables and accessories as required.
Prepare the operative area, assist in draping, and ensure the safety and comfort of the patient throughout the procedure.
Assist with accurate surgical counts, application of dressings, and patient transfers post-procedure.
Support medication preparation under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse, including labeling and transferring medications not for immediate use.
Required Skills & Experience:
