Position Overview
We are seeking a Specialty Outpatient Pharmacist to support clinical and dispensing operations for a newly established specialty pharmacy. This role focuses on collaboration with healthcare providers—primarily in oncology—while delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care in an outpatient setting. The pharmacist will play a key role in medication management, patient coordination, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Perform clinical and dispensing responsibilities within an outpatient specialty pharmacy
Process and dispense specialty medications with accuracy and attention to safety
Collaborate closely with healthcare providers, primarily oncology physicians
Work with clinical teams, pharmacy staff, and support departments to coordinate patient care
Support prior authorizations and financial assistance processes
Communicate with transportation and patient support services as needed
Utilize EPIC Compass Rose for documentation, order processing, and workflow management
Maintain compliance with pharmacy regulations, policies, and best practices
Provide patient-centered care and medication counseling as appropriate
Volume & Environment
Average prescription volume: approximately 50 prescriptions per month
New specialty pharmacy environment with a collaborative, interdisciplinary focus
Required Qualifications
Active Pharmacist license (state-appropriate and in good standing)
EPIC Compass Rose experience – REQUIRED
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a specialty pharmacy setting
Preferred Qualifications
Oncology pharmacy experience (preferred but not required)
Experience working in outpatient or specialty pharmacy services
