Position: Telemetry Nurse 
Location: Sioux City, IA
Duration: 13 weeks

Unit Name: Medical/Telemetry - 5A
Shift: Nights: 12-hour shift, 36 hours/week

Description:
As a member of the interdisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse (RN) in the Medical/Telemetry - 5A unit will contribute professional nursing knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care to patients through the application of the nursing process. This role requires a dedicated and compassionate individual with a strong background in Med/Surg and Telemetry nursing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Care: Provide direct patient care using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and within hospital policies.
• Monitoring: Observe and monitor patients’ conditions, recording vital signs, and communicating changes to the healthcare team.
• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with physicians, other nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.
• Medication Administration: Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Documentation: Document patient care activities and responses accurately and in a timely manner using the EPIC EMR system.
• Patient Education: Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatment plans, and self-care strategies.
• Safety and Compliance: Ensure a safe environment for patients and staff by adhering to safety protocols and infection control practices.

Requirements:

• Experience:
  • 2+ years of Med Tele or Tele/Cardiac experience.
  • Epic experience.
• Certifications:
  • Current RN license.
  • BLS (AHA) or ARC certification.
  • Stroke certification (can be obtained during onboarding).
• Additional Requirements:
  • Travelers must be COVID vaccinated; medical/religious exemptions provided upon request.
  • Ability to float to other similar units as needed.
  • Negative attitude/behaviors will not be tolerated; contract termination for non-compliance.
  • Candidates with a taxable home address within 60 miles of the facility will be billed at a reduced rate.
